Donate to Eldercare Trust

The Eldercare Trust was set up in 1999 to establish, support and promote the material, emotional, psychological and physical welfare of the elderly. It is registered under the Charities Act and the National Council of Social Services (NCSS) Central Fund. The Trust has been granted IPC status, enabling it to issue tax-exemot receipts for donations from corporate and individual donors.

The Eldercare Trust provides subsidy to elderly from the low income families, so that they can benefit from services such as day care, home care and the Wellness Programm.

The day care programme offers seniors a conducive care environment to socialise and engage in meaningful structured activities that keep them physically, socially and mentally healthy.

The Care@home programme serve as an alternate care service to the elderly who are weak, home-bound and requires home care when their children are at work. Fully-trained iCare officers visit the elderly at their homes to help with tasks such as personal grooming, cooking, simple wound-dressing and companionship.

Mr Madhavan Michel receives Eldercare Trust Subsidy to help him receive care at Silver Circle day care centre.

Having lost his right leg to diabetes, he used to stay at home alone while his wife worked in the day. When he first came to Silver Circle, his swollen stump was badly managed and he was depressed about his condition.

The centre arranged a physiotherapist to see Mr Michel and staff taught him how to bandage his wound and massage his stump to reduce the swelling.

Now, Mr. Michel is a changed man. He is happier as he gets to exercise, play majong and interact with his friends in the centre. His health has also improved and he can even handle food shopping for his wife on weekends.
