Social Day Care

Operating from Mondays to Fridays from 7.30am to 6.00pm, NTUC ElderCare Centres/Silver Circle provide a mix of purposeful and structured activities that caters to the needs of frail elderly. Our Centres provide dual-income families with care facilities for their frail elderly dependents during the day while they are at work as well as helping the elderly to continue with their therapy programmes in order to maintain their functional independence.

Subject to an overall assessment, our enrolment is open to all elderly or seniors who meet the following criteria: -
 
Ambulant or semi-ambulant
Able to conduct their activities independently
Not suffering from severe mental illness, dementia, behavioural disorder or contagious diseases
 
Applications who fall outside the above criteria (e.g. wheelchair-bound, slightly demented) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
 
Activities

Maintenance Rehabilitation Exercises
Mental Stimulating Activities
Recreational Activities such as arts & crafts, karaoke, bingo, card games,
Structured Learning Programmes
Festive Celebrations & Social Outings
Basic Health Checks
3 Meals (1 lunch, 2 tea breaks) per day

Transport Service
For the convenience of our elderly clients, the Centres provide a 2-way daily ferry service at nominal cost. This service, however, caters to residents who stay within a reasonable circumference of our Centres. Other value-add services are also available at the centres at nominal cost.

Fee Subsidy/Discount
In order to make the service readily available and affordable to all, NTUC ElderCare charges a one-tier fee that is pegged to the median level which is heavily subsidized. The prevailing fee is S$640.00 per month (inclusive of 2-way transport service) for clients who are on a 5-days per week programme.

NTUC Union members who enrol their elderly dependents with us will be able to enjoy a monthly rebate of S$15 (terms & conditions apply).

Financial Assistance Schemes
Families that require financial assistance, subject to the respective eligibility criteria and terms & conditions, can apply from the following schemes: -

 
1. Government Means-Test
Applicant must meet the following criteria:-
- Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident aged 55 years and above
- Physically frail and in need of supervision and supportive help
- Have mild dementia and/or psychiatric problems but fit for communal living

Successful applications will recieve subsidy of 75% if the monthly household income is below $0-$300 or 50% subsidy if it is between S$301-S$700. Special cases will be considered only on case-by-case basis.
   
2. ElderCare Trust
Applicant with a monthly per capita income below $1000 may apply for subsidy from ElderCare Trust. Other terms and conditions may apply.

Application forms are available at our Centres and must be accompanied with supporting documents such as income tax, pay slips or declarations of the immediate family members.
