Wellness Programme
Silver Circle (Jurong Central) has been identified as one of the six pilot sites for the new Wellness Programme.
The 2-year pilot programme aims to provide greater continuity and convenience for seniors to age-in-place by optimizing the resources and building upon existing programmes within the community. The programme has four key components:
|
| |
Information & Referral
Seniors will be able to access relevant information and get referrals on relevant health, eldercare and social services within the community.
|
| |
Health Wellness Regular health promotion activities will be organized to encourage seniors to go for regular health checks, follow-ups and foster healthy lifestyle and well-being.
|
| |
Active Ageing Programmes will encourage seniors to remain socially active, reaching out to the socially isolated through channels such as senior volunteerism, lifelong learning and financial planning etc.
|
| |
Day Care & Senior-Centric Services Seniors who need more care will be able to benefit from a more integrated service that provides day care and day rehabilitative services under one roof. |
|
| |
The Wellness Programme@ Jurong Central was launched on 25 November 2007 by Mr Lim Boon Heng, Minister, Prime Minister’s Office. One of the new facilities include a new Wellness Kafe which serves as a platform for seniors to engage themselves in developing their interests/hobbies or join activities such as Senior Aerobics and Handicrafts. Seniors can also look forward to more regular health screenings with follow-ups and referrals and more senior-centric community-based programmes especially tailored for 50 years and above.
The second pilot site for the Wellness Programme will be at NTUC ElderCare new social day care centre – Silver Circle (Punggol South) at Block 571 Hougang Street 51.
